Cynthia Via is a multi-genre writer who works as a teacher, editor, and journalist. She explores gender, the duality of motherhood, and the relationship between humans and nature with writings in The Acentos Review, Write or Die, Coffin Bell, Grace & Gravity: Grit Anthology, among others. She is a Tin House and VONA Workshop Alum. She was a featured poetry and prose reader at 804 Lit Salon, The Inner Loop, and Dupont Underground. She has performed comedy for Seltzer, Improbable, and Grassroots Comedy. During off hours she eats fries and makes up for by running a few miles. She was raised in New York, and born in Peru.
